aFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

+ WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Students are required to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to a start time of a class or event or their reservation may be forfeited.

+ WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

There is street parking available in the surrounding blocks, often times 1st ave has more availability. Street parking availability varies depending on time of day and is $2/hr 8:00AM - 7:00PM Monday -Saturday. You should wear typical yoga/workout clothes. Remember that all our classes are heated, so be prepared to sweat. There are cubbies to store all your layers and shoes. You will definitely need a mat, towel and water bottle. If you don't have any of these things, we have them for you! Mat rentals are $3. Bath towels are free for members and $2 for non-members. + WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? WHAT IF I CAN'T DO IT?

Expect a challenging workout for all fitness levels. Both FLEX and FLOW classes are heated workouts. Studies have found that, in addition to an increased rate of perspiration, training in the heat can increase an athlete’s blood plasma volume (which leads to better cardiovascular fitness), reduce overall core temperature, reduce blood lactate, increase skeletal muscle force, and, counterintuitively, make a person train better in cold temperatures. You can also expect to take breaks as you need. Don't be discouraged and listen to your body. If you need a moment, take 5 breaths, get a sip of water and jump right back in. You will find that you will need fewer and fewer breaks as you become more conditioned. Stay hydrated, taking a sip of water every 10-15 minutes.

To best prepare for class, get a good nights rest. Come hydrated. This isn't the type of class you want to do on an empty stomach with just a couple cups of coffee. A light meal about an hour or so before class is recommended.

+ HOW IS FUEL DIFFERENT FROM OTHER HIIT AND YOGA STUDIOS?

Fuel is not dogmatic, our classes will incorporate the foundation of power vinyasa yoga movements with the addition of creative speed and strength training moves. Yoga practice benefits strength, flexibility, and balance; our classes focus on building strength through physical intensity as a path to bolder living. Imagine adding pushups in a Sun Salutation A or lunge squats in Sun Salutation B; some classes add free weights to yoga postures and we may do a lot of jumping. Don't worry if Sun Salutation means nothing to you, that's okay, we've got your back! Our classes are open to all levels and our trained instructors will make sure you're safe and leave happy and sweaty.
