Yoga started as something I felt like I should try out because my mom, brother, and sister already had started a yoga practice. I was in my mid 20s when I first checked out a local studio and from the moment I stepped out of the class I was hooked!
After that first class I realize I would never need to go back to the gym again, and that I had found what was right for my body in terms of staying in shape and staying grounded mentally. It was very hard for me to get both of those things, simultaneously, in a gym setting.
After practicing for a few years I made the decision to take a teacher training course in Portland because I felt like I had a lot of value to offer and wanted to explore that side of the practice. That turned out to be a life-changing decision as it allowed me to leave to make big changes in many areas of my life. I’ve learned so much about the power of my voice and my energy.
I’ve since quit an unfulfilling job, started a social media business, and traveled all over the world practicing in new places each time.
For me yoga has become a lifestyle not just in activity I do in my life. I want that to resonate through all my classes.
